The council is the local government organisation charged with the administration of the county of Argyll & Bute on the west coast of Scotland.

The council originally approached us in April 2010 as the license on their existing CMS system (Media Surface) was due to expire at the end of the year. Their initial requirement was to replace their existing site before the license expired. They had limited resources and time in which to achieve this goal.

They chose Drupal as their new content management system due to its rich feature set out of the box and the ease with which it could be implemented in the short timeframe. We were contracted  to provide an initial training programme that allowed Argyll & Bute's internal web team to quickly get up to speed on Drupal configuration and development. The council also reserved a number of consultancy days from us which have been used for ongoing advice, bespoke development, setup of features that the internal team felt unable to implement and further training of content editors across the organisation.

The project was a major success, with the website (http://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk) launching on time and under budget. Argyll & Bute are still engaged with us both as a support subscriber and through the procurement of additional consultancy days.
